The Interesting of Padang Panjang

I’m basically from Padang Panjang. I have been in padang about 12 years. Every year I go to Padang Panjang to visit my family. I like my hometown because the weather is so cool and fresh. Padang Panjang is a beautiful place. From Padang Panjang I can see 3 mountains, which are Marapi, Singgalang, and Tandikek. Padang Panjang have many interesting place and beautiful nature view. There are some beautiful and interesting places in my home town.

Firstly, MIFAN is the one of the most interesting places to visit if you in Padang Panjang. MIFAN or Minang Fantasy is a water park. Many people come there to refreshing with their family. MIFAN is always crowded when vacation. The visitors who are visiting MIFAN come from many countries. . The insert cost to MIFAN is pretty expensive, about IDR 35.000 at ordinary day and IDR 50.000 at holiday, but the expensiveness of the insert will be pay by the facilities that you can play and enjoy at MIFAN.

The second is “Aia mancua” of anay valley. It is place that has beautiful nature view. Actually it’s a waterfall. That’s a beautiful waterfall. It’s open for public. You are allowed to swim on the pool under the waterfall. It’s a nice place for picnic and relaxing with family

The third is Minang village. It is a place where Padang Panjang safe all of information and documentation about history and culture of Minangkabau. If flowering season arrives, visitors will be treated to a variety of colors rates ranging from ordinary to orchid flowers at competitive prices.

The forth is “Lubuk Mata Kucing”, located at “Pasa Usang” in Padang Panjang. “Lubuk Mata Kucing” is oldest tourism destination object in Padang Panjang,. The fresh water comes from Singgalang Mountain. It can be alternative if you want to swim at the swimming pool but you haven’t enough money to enter MIFAN.

Padang Panjang is interesting place to visit. There are many places to visit. I like to be there. not only for recreation is also a place to add the knowledge about Padang Panjang.

My story

My name is Annisa. I was born on 23th august in 1002. I live in andalas street number 7. I was living with my family in Padang Panjang about 4 years. I moved to Padang in 1996 because my father works in Padang. In my live I have some people that are very important to me, that is my family and my friends.

I am the third child in my family. I have two sisters and one brother. My younger sister is student in senior high school, my older sister has been graduated from Padang state university and my older brother works in Jakarta. I really love my family. They are my motivator for me. My father is from Padang and my mother from Padang Panjang. My parents always give me advice all about live. My mother is a teacher in a junior high school in Padang. She is a like a super hero for me. In 1999 my father retired from his work. And my mother has to pay all of the necessities of life in my family. But now my father work as a merchant. About 12 years we are live in rented house. We have one house in air pacah area, but because of earthquake my house collapsed.

I am a quiet person. I don’t like to talk with another people that I don’t know. I have friends who are having been being my friend about 6 years. We were meeting in junior high school. We were in the same class. My friends are like family for me. They are always giving me support. When we were in senior high school we had some problem, because we were studying in different school. Now we are often meet each other to share everything about our life in college.

I will struggle a lot in my study for people who I love. I don’t want to hurt they heart because of me.

How to play “Sepak Tekong”

“Sepak tekong” is an interesting traditional game. “Tekong” is a tin can in minangese. I used to play this game with my friends after I back from school. In my opinion, this game teaches us tenacity, spirit, and makes us more health. “Sepak tekong” is very simple game and you have followed this step to play this game.

We need a used tin can or ball. We play it in a big field that there many places to hide. The number of players is 5-10 people.

Before the game starts, we do suits first. The looser will keep “tekong” and other players who won will hide. The tin can placed in the middle of field. Then one people will throw it as far as possible. The guard has to take the tin can back in the middle of field. While the guard runs to take it back, other players will run to hide. The guard has to keep that tin can and looking for the others players. If the guard finds a player, so that player cannot hide anymore. The interesting for this game is when the guard who has been takes the tin can, and then the players throw it again. The guard has to take it back again.

The game end or continue if all players who hide have been find by the guard. The game will continue if the guard turns to friend who first found by the guard, and a new game begins again. This is a long game. The player will loose if the guard know where he/she hide and then shout his/her name. The player cannot hide again and the guard continues to looking for other players.

“Sepak Tekong” is health game for kids. We have to keep this game. But now the game is different. The kids play game by sitting in front of TV or computer. That makes them not health, susceptible to disease and individualism.

Nadia, my best friend that I have been be friend about 5 years. We were met when we were in senior high school. She was my partner seat at second class in senior high school. At first we were not a good friend. We were always having an argument every day, but now we are a good friend. She is always been frantically, respectfulness and friendly.
She has short black hair, black eyes and a small nose. She is not very tall but not short either and she is quite slim. She likes wearing jeans and a T-shirt or sweater. She has a very nice personality and a wonderful sense of humor but she can also get a little depressed from time to time. She loves music, movies and books.
She has a big bedroom. All of stuff in her bedroom is pink. She likes pink very much. Her bedroom is always neat. When somebody come to her bedroom she is not allow that person to sit on her bed. She kept much Korean artist poster in her bedroom. She was long wait in market just because she wanted to buy a big poster Korean artist or an CD of Korean drama. That made me bored. She always talk about Korean artist like super junior, 2pm, shinee and f(x),that are boy band and girl band Korea that she is very like. She always talks about it that make me like them too.
She likes reading nonfiction book like novel and comic. She has a lot of book collection. She has many collection of naruto’s comic. She is collected many teenagers novel's and that is she buy by herself. She is safe her money for buy those book.
She is very respectful and friendly person. She is also very helpful person. For instance, she helps her parents in their work such as cleaning the house. He also helps her mother preparing the dinner and helps her in washing the dishes. She is always giving the best advice when I have problem.
She is always there to support and to help me. She makes me laugh and feel good. I hope that our friendship will continue.
